Healthy High-Fiber Recipes and Menus

Healthy High Fiber Recipes and Menus

Curb your cravings with these healthy, high-fiber recipes.

Want to know the secret to staving off hunger? It’s simply eating foods that make you feel full. High-fiber foods, like whole grains, vegetables, legumes and beans, are digested more slowly, keeping you fuller for longer. While experts recommend that we get 25-30 grams daily, most of us barely meet the halfway mark. Get your fill and curb your cravings with these satisfying, high fiber recipes. We’ve selected our favorites below, or look for any EatingWell recipes marked with the “High Fiber” icon—they have at least 5 grams of fiber per serving.

Where are your Vegan recipes? All I see are main meals with animal products. That's a "no-no" for this 81 year old active lady, who is not on any prescriptions. Go Vegan!!!

Elayn, Tempe, AZ
I'm with you Elayn! It's so frustrating!!! The few recipes with veggies are only "side dishes"?!?! What gives??? gothealthgetjuiceplus!

Stephanie, Charlotte, NC
I'm right there with you Elayn! What's with all the animal proteins? and what few veggie only recipes listed are "side dishes"?!?!? It's frustrating! www.gothealthgetjuiceplus.com!

Stephanie, Charlotte, NC
Im kinda confused with this high fiber recipes on this page, Im needing a High fiber diet and my husband needs it for his High blood pressure but there is to much meat in these recipes and it seems not enough veggies from what we are both suppose to have!

Paula, Garrison, KY
By making a 'side-dish' the main dish, I think it will solve a few problems mentioned here. Most are vegan -- or just leave out the dairy and eggs. ...and with beans as fiber, ya can't go wrong! I too am a vegan -- never felt better -- not quite 81 yet -- but Lord willing, I'll get there! ;)

Che, Philadelphia, PA
I'm with you, I have been a veggie most of my life because I just don't like meat. Fiber is not all meat. I don't understand why everything is meat. Help!

Jo Anne, Pekin, IL
I agree with all the comments. I see way too many meat recipes for a healthy publication. I've posted requests for more vegetarian/vegan recipes countless times. Doesn't seem to work so far...

Jan R., Wichita, KS
Try the Pasta with Eggplant Ragu. Veggie and high fiber. You have to understand we're in a minority, surely vegetarians (in my case pescatarians) know how to modify a recipe!

Monica, Orlando, FL
I'm a vegetarian in need of igh fiber as well. And while we can always modify, it is nice to be included by having veggie recipies.

Anna, Homewood, IL
I think this is very helpful... for the people that are vegans, you do realize there are other websites right??

Nicole, Knoxville, TN
Hey guys-What gives is this is not a vegan website! Stop complaining and go to your own website. Its your choice to be vegan.

Cindy, Manhattan Beach, CA
Ah. If your vegetarian, use tofu, or eat shreddies for fibre. Really. Meat is meat. Right? Like I understand your rights, but not everyone is like you. To each there own. So no need to blow up at us. Alright? If you want fibre really badly, eat cereal. There. Problem solved. *does happy dance* :) And this info is good thanks to the providers.

Dayna, St.Albert,, AB
Cindy, Chill Please. I think the point being made is this is a website that promotes "eating well". In this era of technology and data fields etc, the vegans visiting it are asking for their own link. Not too much to ask for considering there are already 100+ catagories. But ultimately you are correct, if this web site wants to cater only to meat eaters that's its right

Paul, Dallas, Tx
