Yogurt Containers

Dairy Tips Tip for Two: Buy smaller servings of dairy products—pints of milk, 6- and 8-ounce containers of yogurt, 4-ounce containers of cottage cheese and 3-ounce blocks of cream cheese.

Dairy Tips Examine containers for leaks or other damage when shopping for dairy products.

Dairy Tips Check the “sell by” dates before you buy.

Dairy Tips Make milk and other perishable foods the last items you pick up before leaving the store. In warm weather, put a cooler in your car to keep perishables cold between store and home.

Dairy Tips Take dairy products home and refrigerate immediately.

Dairy Tips Don’t  keep milk on the door panel, it is least safe there. Store milk in the coldest part of the refrigerator.

Dairy Tips Nonfat milk has more calcium than whole milk. Calcium is found not in the butterfat, but rather the water content of the milk. As nonfat has no butterfat, it has a higher ratio of calcium per serving than the same amount of whole milk.
