DIET AND EXERCISE TIPS
Exercise Because It Feels Good
You may not believe it now, but the more you exercise, the better you’ll feel.

Many people shy away from exercise because they think it will leave them tired and out of breath. But as you gradually progress to being more active, just the opposite happens: you’ll feel more energized and empowered. Keeping active might also make you happier. Regular aerobic exercise can help stimulate production of endorphins, “feel-good” chemicals in the brain. It can also help you get a good night’s sleep—people who exercise regularly tend to fall asleep quicker and stay asleep longer.

I can vouch for exercise making you feel better. I lost 30 pounds over the last year, and at 42 I now feel better than I ever have in my life. My tips: 1) Just accept that there will be an awkward phase before you get into the swing of it and start feeling stronger. It's worth it. 2) Plan out your workout, write it down and stick to it. If you aimlessly wander from machine to machine, it's easy to get sidetracked and quit early. Mix strength training with cardio. 3) Find somebody fun to work out with at least once a week. For me it's one of the classes I take at the gym. The instructor helps everyone have a great time. 4) If you don't like music during your workouts, try podcasts. I listen to the NPR Car Talk guys when I'm on the elliptical. 5) Learn to cook simple meals from fresh foods and whole grains. I have five easy variations of a spinach stir fry with brown rice or soba noodles that keep me from stopping for fast food on the way home. 6) Books to read: "Mindless Eating" by Brian Wansink, "Don't Eat This Book" by Morgan Spurlock, "Eat, Drink and Weigh Less" by Mollie Katzan and Walter Willet.

Agree, it is not always fun to exercise, but you will always feel better afterward, always. The key is to do something everyday. Big or small, long or short, hard or easy, just do some exercising everyday and you will feel better everytime, guaranteed. You may also look better too.

I concur. I have arthritis and I am in chronic pain. I always feel better after my daily exercise routine (physcially and mentally). To stay motivated I have several routines that I change up throughout the week. Each routine has an easy, "less-is-more" level (for when I really don't feel strong) and a more difficult "kick-it-up-notch" level. That way I don't get bored, nor do I ever feel like exercise is a punishment.

It is true that exercising does the body good, so I had to ask myself why did I stop getting on the gazell daily. I notice that as long as I used the gazell daily that my energy level soared, but with working and going to school part time I stopped my daily routine of using the gazell for at least thirty minutes a day now I am back to being tired. However, I will begin to use the gazell daily and I will watch as my energy level hits the roof. Doing something is better than doing nothing at all. Exercise, exercise and more exercise.

I have now been at the gym for approx 1 year now, but have not been back since the day before xmas 2007. I now know what everyone means by saying the more you work out the better you feel, my energy levels are not as high anymore like before, and i feel very unhealthy at this point. However, im returning back to the gym tommorrow i cant wait. My point is people Go for it you have nothing to lose by trying to do the best you can for your mind, body and soul. Exercise truly does work!!!
